This event is suitable for anyone who has basic hiking & camping experience and would like to gain temporary access to our gear library to run mission-aligned youth outdoors trips. GLO is geared toward trip leaders who need to access gear for an upcoming youth trip but will not be able to take a BAWT Leadership Course beforehand. It is also suitable for those who have taken the Camping At The Presidio (CAP) training and would like continued access to the Gear Library. Please fill out this form if you are interested!
*Participants who complete GLO will receive 1 year of access to BAWT’s Gear Library. GLO participants are encouraged to complete a 2023 leadership training (course dates coming soon) within the year to become eligible for ongoing access to the Gear Library.
This evening session ensures those who borrow gear understand our gear use policies and gear reservation system.
BAWT gear libraries are stocked with high-quality outdoor gear, thanks to the generous support of corporate sponsors and individual donors.
Our gear library has the capacity to serve between 50-500 campers at a time with high quality sleeping bags, ground pads, tents, stoves, cookware, boots, outdoor wear and more.
Whether you’re doing a car-camping trip, backpacking adventure, day hike, or snowshoeing, we’ve got you covered.
GLO session is included with WLT and FLT courses. and is required for those that have only been CAP trained.
If you have already taken the Camping at the Presidio course, you may take the GLO class to access free gear loans from BAWT libraries for trips outside of the Presidio campground. You will have the same access compared with taking the FLT.
